Lithium battery has excellent charge, or discharge efficiency and lifespan, but thermal runaway of lithium batteries can take personal injury or property damage to users. How to find out the safe, reliable lithium battery from a flood of brands is not easy. 

The factors determine RV lithium battery quality

A high-quality RV lithium battery includes factors like cell chemistry, battery management system, mechanics and thermodynamics, and manufacturing. 

Cell Chemistry

 

Why cell chemistry occupies the highest proportion? Because battery thermal runaway is mostly caused by cell thermal runaway. Lithium Iron Phosphate cell chemistry is so far the safest lithium cell type which can prevent thermal runaway significantly.

 

Unfortunately, the market is flooded with cheap LiFePO4 cells, and customers should be aware of B grade, or recycled cells. The risk of thermal runaway of B grade, or recycled cells is much higher than A grade cells.
